I’m thrilled to share that Articulate is sponsoring Rails Girls Summer of Code for the fifth consecutive year. We began partnering with this award-winning program from its very first season in 2013 and continue to support its mission to bring more diversity to the tech industry.
Rails Girls Summer of Code gives women and non-binary folks hands-on experience working on open source projects. During the three-month program, students pair off into teams and decide what they want to work on. They’re flanked by mentors and coaches who provide support, answer questions, and help ensure the teams are successful.
To make the program accessible to all, participants receive a monthly stipend to support them as they work over the summer. Rails Girls Summer of Code is supported entirely by donations from individuals and companies like Articulate who believe in their mission.
In addition to sponsoring this important program, Articulate has a number of other initiatives to help support women in tech. There’s our Lean In group, which gives female-identified employees a platform to support one another’s growth. We also have our Better Allies group, where employees of all genders hold regular conversations about allyship.
We look forward to seeing what the Rails Girls Summer of Code students create! And if you’d like to support this excellent organization, you can find out more on its website.
