Say you’re looking for a quick way to test your published Articulate Storyline projects, but you don’t have access to a web server. Not to worry—just use Tempshare.

Our engineers put together Tempshare over one weekend to help folks upload and test Articulate Storyline content. Note: Tempshare is not an official, supported Articulate product.

How to use Tempshare

Getting started with Tempshare is easy:

  1. Publish your Articulate Storyline project
  2. Select zip
  3. Open your web browser and go to: http://tempshare.articulate.com
  4. Drag your .zip file into the tempshare upload box

Tempshare generates a non-guessable URL you can use to access and share your project. Content is hidden from search engine indexing, so everything remains private while you test.

Ways to use Tempshare

Originally designed as a tool for testing Articulate Storyline content on iPads, Tempshare has become a popular way to share Articulate Storyline content. Here are a few ways you can use Tempshare:

  • Request feedback from the Articulate community. To get constructive feedback on an activity or scenario, simply upload your published content to Tempshare, paste the URL into a new forum post, and ask for feedback on E-Learning Heroes.
  • Get feedback from your clients. Tempshare makes it easy to share projects with clients. And, they’re shielded from public view because the links generated by Tempshare aren’t indexed by search engines.
  • Verify that your LMS or web server is configured correctly. If you have trouble with a Storyline file after you upload it to your LMS or website, try uploading it to Tempshare. If your files work as expected on Tempshare, then the issue is with your server settings, not your project files.

Keep in mind that Tempshare is for testing purposes only. Uploaded content is deleted 10 days after it’s posted. If you’re looking for a long-term solution, share your specific needs on E-Learning Heroes to get suggestions from our super engaged community.

I hosted a trial published file on Tempshare but now realise I am contravening company privacy policies. How can I remove the file from tempshare?

Thanks

Jeremy Miles

@Jeremy – Your file will be auto-deleted 10 days from uploading. We can’t manually remove a file, but the files are secured with a non-guessable URL. There’s no way anyone will find your published project.

Hi Catherine-

It looks like Tempshare is up and running here. Which product are you trying to use with Tempshare (Storyline, Studio)? Studio 13 will work with Tempshare but Studio ’09 will not. Can you verify the program you’re using?

Thanks!

When uploading my zip file to Tempshare, it hangs at Publishing: 99%. It has worked once for me, but several more times, it does not give me a URL to share my course.

Hi Cindy – I just checked our servers and Tempshare is up and running. Can you try clearing your browser cache and trying again? If that still doesn’t help, I’d like you to submit a ticket with our support team so they can take a closer look: http://www.articulate.com/support/contact/submit.php

Hi,
Tempshare doesn’t seem to be working today. I can’t drag and drop my zip file to upload. It was working fine for me last week. What do you think?

Hi Josephine –

Would you mind giving it another try? We performed some work on our servers the past couple days so that could have affected Tempshare. I just tested it and everything seems to be up and running. Can you try again and let us know?

I am trying to upload a project and it is stuck at 99% like Cindy’s comment from above. I have cleared my browser and made sure pop-ups are allowed on the site. Any suggestions?

Hi Joanna and Marina –

Are you still having trouble posting? I just verified that Tempshare should be up and running. If you’re still having trouble posting, let me know and I’ll connect you with support.

I am trying to use Tempshare for the first time and I can’t seem to upload my zip file. I selected the file, but when I click on the Upload this File button, nothing happens. Are there any size restrictions or other requirements that might be causing me problems? Any help you can offer is appreciated. Thanks!
