Employee Spotlight: Ed Croson
I’m pleased to present to you what will be the first in a series of regular Articulate Employee Spotlight entries! Our goal is to give you a glimpse of the characters behind the company, and I hope you’ll enjoy a little something different. Thanks to Ed for agreeing to be the first to go on public display…
Ed Croson
Articulate Sr. Product Consultant
What’s your favorite Articulate feature (any product)?
There are so many! I really love the whole concept of rapid creation and deployment of training and presentation content with all our tools. If I had to pick one feature as a favorite, it’d be the Player Templates in Presenter. The Player Template allows you to quickly tailor your presentation to your particular audience. Everything from selecting what navigation options to appear down to customizing the labeling of the buttons can be done. You can make your personalized presentation or training content as simple or as fancy as you want in a matter of seconds!
What do you like about working for Articulate?
Simple. Great people, great products, and a great direction that the company is headed!
Do you have any words of advice for customers or prospective customers?
Our tools truly allow you to rapidly create rich, engaging presentation and quizzing content, and they can definitely save you and your organization a lot of time and money. I would encourage our customers and prospective customers to take full advantage of our support blog and our Knowledge Base. Both contain a wealth of information and resources on using all our tools to their fullest potential. And make sure to sign up for our newsletter as well to receive free product tips ‘n tricks and advance notice on any “inside scoop” we might be offering in regards to products, promotions, etc.

What’s your favorite time of year and why?
Fall, for several reasons. Where I currently live (in San Diego) there are still a couple of months of warm weather to enjoy the sunny outdoors without the summer crowds. Fall is also the transition season to cooler temperatures and shorter days, which I think brings a nice change of vibe into your life. And last but not least, it’s the season of Thanksgiving and NFL Football!
What’s your favorite food and/or drink?
Hmmm, tough one. For food, I’d say it’d be a two-way tie between Italian and Japanese. For drinks, it would be a two-way tie between red wine and a freshly-brewed hot cup of Joe.
Where did you grow up?
Ojai, California.
What do you like about where you live?
Ojai is a small, eclectic town that, culturally, is a mix between a hick town, a spiritual/artsy town, and a ritzy celebrity get-away. It was really fascinating to be able to absorb all the different perspectives within the same town. It’s also a very beautiful location nestled in a valley that is housed by spectacular mountains and lush landscapes.
Share with us a little-known, but interesting fact about yourself.
I used to be a semi-professional tennis player and played against such players as Pete Sampras, Michael Chang, Andre Agassi, and the Menendez brothers (and lived to tell about it.) I’m also a “weekend warrior” musician (guitar) and have jammed with a good number of well-known musicians.
