Top 100 Learning Tools of 2008
“(Articulate) sets the standard in rapid e-learning, now well supported by frequent blog tutorials.”
– Patrick Mayfield
As she did last year, Jane Hart has once again compiled a list — based on 161 surveys of industry professionals — of the Top 100 Learning Tools of 2008.
And once again, our products have come in at a solid rank of #22:
But ranks can be deceiving — especially when “learning tools” are so broadly defined (e.g., I included in my list my iPod Nano with Nike+ as a learning tool for running, which Jane subsequently highlighted on her blog as an E-Learning Pick of the Day).
A quick scan of tools 1 through 21 reveals that Articulate is the #1 elearning authoring tool on the list. The next-closest authoring tool is Captivate at #27.
With comments like these, our rank isn’t that surprising:
“For the clients I work with, a tool like Articulate is like a gift from heaven. Combined with Quizmaker and Engage, you can transform PowerPoint into a pretty incredible production tool.”
– Jeff Cobb
You can review more comment highlights that contributors included with their selection of Articulate tools in their lists.
The other cool ranking is the one that puts us at #3 on the list of workplace learning tools (and again #1 of elearning authoring tools on this list):
There’s also a PDF of the list available for download.

Wow, I’m surprised the craptastic “award-winning, highly scalable Learning Content Management System” (*not* Articulate) my organization has chosen as its default eLearning development tool didn’t make the list.
Wait, no I’m not.
Well deserved! Can’t wait to see what happens when Articulate08 is released!
That’s great! Congrats on your strong showing!!
Congrats Articulate team!
Congratulations Articulate! You deserve it.
