Win $1,500 in Guru Awards 2009! Easy as 1-2-3!
Submission is now closed. Learn more about the Guru Awards 2009 Winners.
Here’s your chance to be an Articulate Guru. You’ll win prizes, be famous, and the chicks (or dudes) will dig you!
Welcome to the Articulate Guru Awards 2009… think you have what it takes to get past our panel of experts?
It’s easy to participate:
Step 1: Fire up your Articulate Studio ’09 products. You don’t even need to own a copy; you can download a free, fully functional 30-day trial.
Step 2: Create an e-learning course using any combination of Articulate Studio ’09 products. Judges are looking at the following criteria:
- Effective use of Studio ’09 products and features
- Effectiveness of course content to transfer knowledge
- Use of compelling media (graphics, audio, video, etc.)
- Broad use of authoring tool features
- Bonus for integrating Presenter ‘09, Quizmaker ’09, and Engage ’09 into one course, but we’ll also accept courses authored using a single Articulate tool or combination of our products
Step 3: Submit your files to enter the contest.
That’s it!
If you don’t have a course you can share, create one. It can be about anything. The subject matter isn’t that important. We’re just looking for great courses.
Check out the previous winners.
Got great Articulate authoring skills, but don’t have any non-confidential courses that you are able to share? Create a new course on a topic you’re an expert on! Choose a subject that’s fun to you such as gardening, running, technology, rock climbing… whatever!
Here are some some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:
- Sure-fire method to negotiate a salary increase (Presenter ’09 branching and our new Quizmaker ’09 free-form design features might be useful)
- Tips on creating a compelling blog
- How to stick to an exercise program
- Cool things you didn’t know you could do with your iPhone (Presenter ’09 annotations and Engage labeled graphics would be useful for this course)
- Lessons learned from your favorite TV show (Video Encoder ’09 should come in handy here)
You’ll have the opportunity to win:
- Grand Prize: $1,500
- 2nd Prize: $500
- 3rd Prize: $250
All prize winners will also receive:
- Two licenses of Articulate Rapid E-Learning Studio ’09 Pro donated to the school or charity of their choice.
- Fame, prestige and recognition by being featured on our website.
Winners will be announced at a special Articulate event on March 9, 2009. Stay tuned for more information on that in this blog! Enter as many items as you like before the submission deadline of February 18, 2009.
Next Steps:
It’s easy to get started. Just review the official rules, create your e-learning course, and then submit your content.

Can you submit more than one course?
Hi Rebecca- Yes! You can enter as many times as you’d like before the deadline.
Hi Gabe,
My kids want to enter this (ages 8 and 10), but “a participant must be at least the age of majority in his or her jurisdiction of residence.” My daughter, Mae, wants to know if this is just for old people, and I don’t know what the “age of majority” means?
Todd
Hi Todd- That’s great your kids want to enter! Yes, that would be fine if they want to. Should they win, you’d just need to sign on their behalf as their guardian.

I have a series of 5 modules running on an LMS. Should I try to send one of the modules or see if my company would allow you to check out the whole training upgrade package? This was designed to teach experienced techs a new system so that they did not need to travel. It has worked very well.
I have never seen any examples of real high tech instruction on your previous examples. I am having very good success in using the software for this purpose. (with tests, certificates etc…)
Hi John- We’ll look forward to seeing your training! Either way is fine – if you want us to login to your LMS to check it out, just create an account for us and send us the info via this form.
Hi Gabe
I wanted to enter in the contest but I don’t know if this contest is prohibited where I stay – “Void in the Province of Quebec and where otherwise prohibited by law.” Is there a way I can check?
Thanks.
MP
Hi MP- Where do you live?
sorry, I missed mentioning that! I stay in New Delhi, India.
MP
Hi MP- Although we can’t speak to your local laws, we see no reason why someone from New Delhi, India wouldn’t qualify to win, from our perspective.
