The American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) last year conducted a study that would lead to its plan to introduce a new Certification for Workplace Learning and Performance (WLP) for learning professionals.

The highlights of the study, called Mapping the Future: Shaping New Workplace Learning and Performance Competencies, along with a call for ongoing feedback on the certification program, were presented to attendees of the ASTD TechKnowledge Conference & Exposition in February 2004.
